Warren Rupp, a manufacturer of industrial pumps, faced a common challenge: limited warehouse space and variable shipment sizes. The company was salvaging free, used wooden pallets, but as order volume grew, these pallets consumed too much space. Used pallets were also unpredictable, creating unstable loads and leading to product damage.
After deploying stackable molded wood pallets, the company optimized warehouse space while maximizing cost per shipment. Litco's molded, single-piece nesting pallets allowed Warren Rupp to stack up to fifty pallets within a seven-foot vertical space – with a four-to-one stacking ratio. The pallets take up one-third of the space of a wooden pallet, allowing three times as many pallets at workstations.
The molded pallets improved safety by requiring less lift truck traffic through the plant. Because the pallets come in multiple fractional sizes, the manufacturer saved money on pallets while also managing fewer product damage incidents and customer complaints. For a company where floor space is at a premium, the space savings translated directly to operational efficiency.
